Agua Verde Paddle Club FAQS
Do you take reservations?
We have lots of equipment, so we do not take reservations for singles or small groups (1 – 11 people). Kayaks are rented by the hour on a first-come, first-serve basis. We do not make hourly kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding reservations. Paddlers rent by the hour on a first-come, first-serve basis. For large groups we offer limited reservations. We are also able to accommodate smaller groups as a private or custom tour. Please see our Group Reservations page for additional information. We are a small operation and can only accommodate one group reservation per day. Contact us to check availability on your desired dates.
I want to bring a group (6 or more paddlers), but I don’t have enough people to make a reservation. Or I have a large group without a reservation. What are my options?
We have lots of equipment and we will be able to get your group on the water.
You always have the option of scheduling a private or custom tour for your small group. Email us at tours@aguaverde.com or call 206-632-1862 for more information. More information can be found on our Group Reservations page.
- Hop in line and we’ll sign people up in small groups of 4-6 people at a time
- We’ll get your small groups launched right after one another. Making sure your paddlers are ready before reaching the sign up counter (restrooms, parking, changing etc.), helps get everyone on the water quickly.
- When you return, you’ll check out with the small group you signed up with. We can not combine tickets or have someone not on the ticket paying for the group.
- Check out our How it works page for more information on how to rent equipment
How old do you have to be to go kayaking?
- 18 or Older: Can rent a kayak or paddle board
- 17 years and under: Must paddle in the front of a double kayak
Do you sell used equipment?
At the end of our season (fall), we sell some of our used equipment. If you are interested in purchasing used equipment, email boatsale@aguaverde.com with your name, phone number and what type of equipment you’d like to purchase. When we start selling equipment, we go through our emails in the order received.
Do I need any experience?
Absolutely not. Agua Verde is a great place to learn – we rent to paddlers of any level. We have a variety of boats and equipment that suit a range of individuals, from first-time paddlers to advanced individuals.
What should I wear? What should I bring?
Wear clothing that would be appropriate for any outdoor activity, such as hiking or biking. On cooler days, layers such as a fleece jacket or an extra sweatshirt are a good idea. Also, make sure that whatever you wear will remain comfortable if it is splashed with water. We will provide paddles, life jackets, and spray skirts. Depending on the length of your trip, snacks and drinks may be a good idea. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats are great for sunny days. We always recommend that you carry a bottle of water or two with you. We do not sell bottled water, but we do have re-usable water bottles for sale and a water fountain.
Do you have lockers? Can I bring my phone, laptop or camera?
We have a few small cubbies, but they do not have locks. You are welcome to bring your own locks or we sell locks for $7. Large bags or backpacks generally do not fit in the cubbies. Additionally, we have limited lockers available to rent ($3-5). These can fit larger items such as purses and backpacks. We are not able to hold items behind the counter. It’s best to leave large purses or backpacks at home or in the car. We recommend leaving as much as possible at home. We have a limited number of dry bags available with your rental, but they will only fit small items.
